World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

Item upgrade allows players to raise the item level of equippable weapons and armor. This improves the stats of that equipment, in addition to sometimes adding buffs or rolling an affix again.

It is important to remember that even though you can upgrade magic and other common equipment, it's usually not worth the effort. Rare and unique gear can quickly outperform modernized equipment and magic.

Cost

The player must pay gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item depends on its current level as well as the upgrade type selected. Upgrades to weapons are usually cheaper than upgrades to armor, since weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold needed increases as an item is upgraded.

An upgraded item will also have improved stats, which could boost its performance in various ways. This could mean increasing its attack power, critical strike chance, or damage per second. The upgraded item can also give additional bonuses to the unit it's equipped with. Items can be upgraded at any NPC that is an upgrader in the game. These NPCs can be found in the major questing areas or capital cities. Players can also find upgraders by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses and by talking to the NPCs in their garrisons for their faction.

The system of upgrading items in World of Warcraft provides players with the possibility of upgrading the levels of armor, weapons, and trinkets. The process is similar to that of gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the currency appropriate to the task players must visit an NPC to upgrade their items to complete the process.

Upgrades can be costly especially for armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade path, each step up in item upgrader kit level can cost several Valorstones and crests. The total cost can be prohibitive for players who don't have the funds or aren't willing to grind them.

Fortunately the game allows players to roll an upgraded item using a special tool in the items menu. This option allows you to exchange the upgraded item for the level 1 version which comes with an additional set of bonus effects. This is useful to improve the roll of items which are already upgraded. However, it could be a waste of time.

Requirements

Reroll Tokens can be used to reroll an item which has been upgraded. The new item will feature an additional set of bonuses and a lower base item level. The rerolled item upgrader also has different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to keep in mind that the rerolled item does not keep its original strength or even a fraction of its resource.

Some upgraded items are only able to be rerolled only if the original item was a Unique, Rare or Epic. Additionally, exceptional items can be rerolled, however the original stats are replaced by an uncapped bonus. This means that rerolling a Rare item will result in a Normal version of the same kind, while the rerolling of an Epic item will result in an Elite version of the same kind.

An upgraded item might come with additional modifiers, which could further boost its stats and enhance its performance. These additional modifiers do not come with the upgrade price. You can buy them at the Trading Post, or through other players. They can be earned through fulfilling specific missions in the game.

To upgrade an equipment piece it is necessary to visit the NPC [Armorto upgrade an item, visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. You will need Power Dices depending on the item. (Dice 6 can be dropped by monsters 21+, Giants and Bosses; Dice 12 can be found from Bosses). You will also require various amounts of Minerals and Erons.

Time is an important factor.

Upgrades to items are a method to boost your ship's stats and gear without the need to level them up. They're not cheap, but they can be an effective way to boost your stats and not have to spend as much time in battle. It's important to know the costs and benefits before investing your money or time.

Each upgrade boosts an item's base stat by a specific amount and also offers a chance for a bonus substat increase. The additional substat is randomly assigned and could range from a small increase in one statistic to a larger boost in another. It is best to concentrate on the most effective items in the slot first, as they'll provide a greater return on your investment.

You can view the time required to complete an upgrade by opening your inventory and selecting a weapon, ship, or other accessory. The upgrade window will show the expected completion date and progress. In some cases you may be able speed up the upgrade process by using a Glyph.

Black Lion Salvage or Ascended Salvage offer a salvage kit which allows you to salvage all or a portion of upgrade components. However, this does not include legendary equipment or upgrades, which can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or returning them to the appropriate merchant of karma.

Item upgrading rewards players with a variety of items and currency. Each upgrade also has a chance to award a random stat bonus. The amount of bonus value varies between upgrades, and is generally higher for rare items. The players can perform a Great Vault search to see whether an item is upgradeable before spending tickets. The search can assist in determining whether the item is of a particular level and if the player could benefit from a particular upgrade.

During the process of upgrading an item will gradually increase to its next level but it's not always able to reach a full upgrade bar. This process is based on Growthstones and Sollant however there is an 80% chance of obtaining a fully upgraded item in just one cycle. The higher the levels an item is upgraded, the higher its stat value will be and the more items that can be upgraded.

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to give an attribute bonus or to create a unique effect when the equipment is worn. Some upgrade components also come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components are available by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving as a gift. Players can also find upgraded items using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high tier salvage kit. Glyphs, which are placed in tools for gathering are able to be swapped without any restrictions.

By selecting the item and pressing the green button that has an arrow for rerolling, a player can roll it into an upgradeable item. This will alter the layout and let players select up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item that is recycled can be exchanged for a level 1 item of the same type. Recycled items won't keep their status, nor will the resources used to upgrade it.

An item's maximum upgrade level is determined by its tier and quality. Rare and Epic items can be upgraded up to level nine, whereas common items are only upgraded up to level six. The item upgrades are added to the base stats of the item. This means that they won't increase further after a certain level.
